Placement Process


The Placing Authority’s Social Services team carefully assess the individual needs of each child to ascertain the suitability of each placement in our home.

Once this assessment is successfully completed, the team provides our home with a Referral document containing all the relevant information about the child, with which we can review their needs and ensure that our home is indeed suitable to provide the required high-quality care and support that they deserve.

A visit to the home is arranged for the referred child, which may involve an overnight stay. Once a good fit is established and the child is happy to join our home, they are allocated a place in the home and a key worker is appointed, who spends time with them, getting to know and learn about all that concerns the child as an individual. The child is settled into the home, their individualised care plan is created with their input and from there on their journey towards a brighter future begins.
